2017/11/09

IGNIS LTD.

IGNIS LTD. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Qian Kun; hereinafter “IGNIS”) made the decision at their board of directors meeting held on November 9, 2017 to have its subsidiary Pulse Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Qian Kun; hereinafter “Pulse”) enter a business alliance with iwamotocho geinosha inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Norihisa Eto; hereinafter “iwamotocho geinosha”) and has signed the partnership agreement. Details are as follows.

Reason for Alliance

iwamotocho geinosha is the world’s first talent agency specializing in the management of talents that are mainly active in the field of VR (Virtual Reality). iwamotocho geinosha aims to become the world number one operator in terms of annual audience numbers for virtual live shows. They have been looking for a partner company that can share the same goals and one that is also able to provide support in terms of the technical and financial aspects in this field.
The idea behind Pulse is to provide novel user experiences that are entirely unprecedented in the VR field, and we are currently engaged in planning several projects of this kind. We intend to contribute to the success of the VR talents that iwamotocho geinosha manages by deepening the nature of the collaboration, and by providing comprehensive and wide-ranging support with Pulse technology and in similar areas.

Future Developments

We expect that the impact on the consolidated business results for the fiscal year ending September 2018 will be minimal.
Pulse is currently promoting several other VR projects in addition to this one, but in light of the size of the market for VR and the diffusion rate and pace of evolution for VR devices, we are taking a long-term perspective in proceeding with the preparations for and development of these projects. We will promptly disclose our other projects when it is possible to announce such information publicly, in light of the progress made. Starting with this business alliance, we shall continue to create new user experiences, with our basic mission here at the IGNIS Group being to “Creating new standards, over and over again”, and thereby to strive to be able to lead the process of expanding the scale of the VR market in Japan and spreading the adoption and use of VR devices.
